We provide collaborative, integrative design solutions for sustainable Alaska communities.

Over forty years ago, a young architect, Charles "CB" Bettisworth, opened an architecture firm in Fairbanks. Through good northern design and collaborative client relationships, his mission was to make Alaska's communities the best places to live.

Now one of Alaska's largest architecture firms, Bettisworth North honors that same mission. Thirty-eight professional team members in the Anchorage and Fairbanks offices include Alaska registered architects, landscape architects, interior designers, code and construction specialists, graphic designers, and Alaska's only architectural energy programs manager. By choice, we provide only comprehensive planning and design, concentrating on quality and client satisfaction, the main components our reputation is built upon.

Bettisworth North's design solutions celebrate and respond to Alaska's diverse places and cultures. Color, light, nature, and energy define the backbone of our northern-climate designs—from form and site selection to building systems, plantings, and interior finish materials. Our firm's objectives and techniques are specifically directed to ensuring long-term project success.

Our firm emphasizes energy efficiency with environmentally and culturally responsive designs. Projects range from commercial tenant improvements, renovations, test fits, and space planning to multi-million-dollar buildings, industrial complexes, military facilities, schools, hospitals, and public safety facilities, in 90+ Alaska communities. In the last ten years, Bettisworth North has completed designs totaling over $350 million in construction cost, including nearly 40 design-build and general contractor/construction manager (GC/CM) projects.
